These technologies solve US health problems – Times of India

Just before the biggest health crisis of this century – the Covid-19 pandemic – arrived, the US health care center Providence had created its only global innovation center ‘yes, outside the US, Hyderabad. This plague could have stopped the world, but Providence GCCwhich started with only 10 employees, continued to grow. Today, it has a capacity of 1,500, and has become a health care innovation and a change center for the parent company. By the end of 2025, that number is expected to exceed 3,500.
“The team here is helping to sustain the healthcare environment to improve patient outcomes and the caregiver experience, while building a better future. digital skills for technology-led healthcare and driving Providence’s business to scale,” says Murali Krishna, global chief executive officer and country head for India at Providence.
The center already serves as a center for key functions including cloud, cybersecurity, medical applications and digital solutions, data and advanced analytics, product development, automation distribution, digital processing and enterprise services.

It is now rising to build future-ready capabilities that will leverage emerging technologies such as GenAI, AI & ML, and cloud computing. It also flexes its R&D muscle to build new products, create IPs, and publish the latest research.
“We are developing new evidence-based concepts and the latest products in genomics, medical research, public health, and predictive programming. Our goal is to work to change health technology, setting new standards and building new models for care to improve patient health,” says Murali.
Serving the US health care system as a whole
With this aim, Providence India has also started a global initiative to work with health systems across the US to try to find solutions to some of the common challenges that plague healthcare. life in the US. The system faces major challenges such as rising costs of care, nationwide staff shortages, high rates of staff burnout, and lack of access to affordable care.
Murali says when they started, the goal was to build a global talent pool and digitally enabled health system for Providence, but they’ve gone beyond that. “Today we are not just hostages or we are still in another GCC. The reason I say that, one of the areas we are focusing on is to use our GCC model and serve the health systems of US peers – building a service model for US health services to do what we’re doing in Providence today,” he says.
He says Providence’s Indian teams have a deep understanding of US health care while solving real-world problems in collaboration with caregivers and doctors.
AI for success
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is emerging as a key technology to solve some of the biggest problems in the US health care system, especially freeing up time for caregivers so they can significantly improve the quality of care. patients.
“Our teams are integrating AI where it matters most: Reducing worker fatigue and easing administrative burdens, improving delivery speed and quality of care, monitoring health system performance, and elevate the patient experience,” Murali says.
Teams at Providence India are working on solutions that enable hospitals to optimize resources and reorganize staffing schedules by using AI to predict the number of patient cases and automate scheduling. They have also contributed to Providence’s AI-powered tools such as Grace and ProvARIA. Grace is an interactive communication platform that helps patients get information and request location for clinics, medication refills, among others.
ProvARIA helps manage a basket of care providers (doctors and nurses) so that when a patient sends a message, the AI will classify and return the patient to the relevant care provider by pre-planning the response for the care provider to save time .
Teams here have also partnered with nurses to build a referral platform that provides advice to primary care providers on where to refer and where to refer for specialty care.
Murali says: “It’s an exciting time as the industry is taking leaps and bounds with the help of technology to provide care to patients anytime, anywhere. He says maintaining the health care environment is important to provide anytime-anywhere access to patients and clients. “With new care methods, our effort is to improve the experience of every interaction we have with personal care,” he adds.
